Zoe is Two!

Well, our little Zoe turned two on Tuesday! What?!?! Wasn't she just born yesterday? She isn't doing a very good job of following Mommy's instructions of staying her baby forever. I feel like that's it, tomorrow she will be asking me for the keys to the car and next week she will be moving out to go to college. How does this all happen so fast?

She looks so grown up in this picture!

The Saturday before her birthday, we had a small Sesame Street birthday party for her at one of the local parks. It was great we grilled hot dogs and the kids played with bubbles. It was the perfect low-key second birthday party. Elaborate birthday parties are not my style. This is mostly because I am too cheap to spend money on the supplies to make a birthday party elaborate. I am also not patient enough to be crafty and make all of the stuff as advised by Pinterest. So, I ordered Sesame Street plates, napkins and a tablecloth online, and I went to Party City to get a Sesame Street "balloon bouquet". It was not very expensive and it was easy. We also bought some supplies for bubbles. We bought a bubble pool which came with four giant bubble wands. It made for a great deal of fun and a very messy two year old. Here are some of the pics from her party:

On Zoe's actual birthday we had Mac and Cheese at home and then went out for frozen yogurt after. Do to a little bit of hanger, we had to compromise on where she would eat her birthday dinner. She ate it sitting in her Elmo chair on the carpet. Birthdays are days for exceptions and picking your battles. She had a great time running around Orange Leaf and eating her frozen yogurt. She loves being in public and making new friends.

Here is a video of her at Orange Leaf:

Here is your two-year-old update:

Zoe loves:
  • Jesus
  • Mommy and Daddy
  • All of her family and friends (its a long list)
  • Elmo and all of the Sesame Street Friends
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Daniel Tiger
  • Puppies
  • Mac and Cheese
  • Hot Dogs
  • Strawberries
  • Frozen Yogurt (she's had it once and it went well)
  • Going to Daycare a couple of days a week
  • Playing in the nursery on Sundays
  • Chicken Nuggets
  • Broccoli
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Dancing to popular music
  • Singing in the car
  • Playing with her toys
  • Balloons
  • Her kitchen and play food
  • Playing with any kind of ball
  • Playing at the park
  • Making Daddy dance in a Darth Vader Snuggie
Zoe is undecided on:
  • Bath time
  • Sitting at the table for meals (most of the time she doesn't have a choice)
  • Getting in her car seat
  • Getting her diaper changed and/or getting dressed
  • Slides
  • Swings
Zoe doesn't like:
  • Hot Sauce
  • Sitting down in the tub
  • Being Hungry
  • Going to sleep
  • Going to the doctor
  • Sharing her food
  • Putting away her bubbles
  • Going inside from playing outside
Things Zoe says (She says A LOT of things, but here are some of my favorites):
  • Please and Thank you (she will not stop saying "Thank You" unless you say "You're Welcome")
  • Thank You Mommy! (she says this to everyone, not just me)
  • Bye Jayce! (Jayce is a boy at daycare, she says it even when she isn't at daycare)
  • Chep-pup (Ketchup)
  • She pronounces "fork" in an interesting way, I'll let you figure that one out
  • Raj-ee (Raisins)
  • If you say "I" in a leading tone, she will say "love" and then waits for you to say "you" with her her (it is very cute)
  • Mulky (Milk)
  • Cut it!
  • Oh Boy!
  • No Way!
  • Cha-Cho (Got you!)
  • Up up!
  • Noses! (She wants you to rub noses)
  • She says most of her ABC's or "AB AB"
  • She can count to 10 really well and then skips a few numbers here and there to get to 20
Things people day about Zoe:
  • "What pretty eyes!"
  • "She's so friendly and polite."
  • "She's full of energy!"
  • "She needs a little brother or sister." (Just waiting on God's timing there.)
We are so blessed to have our "little" bug. Here are some of the "two-year-old pictures" I took. I plan on getting professional family pictures done in the fall so this was my free alternative.
